Energy Excelerator

Energy Excelerator operates as a program of the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR). PICHTR was founded in 1983 to tackle the challenges of Hawaii’s oil dependency. In 2008, the state adopted one of the most aggressive renewable energy standards by setting a goal of 70% clean energy by 2030 and began working to support energy innovation in Hawaii through a program called Hawaii Renewable Energy Development Venture, which funded energy innovation with $9M of support from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The energy excelerator offers two distinct programs for entrepreneurs and energy enthusiasts with funding from $75,000 to up to $1 Million, the program helps startups validate business models, craft go-to-market strategy and support in future fundraising activities. The key benefits of the program include Introductions to investors, corporates, and customers as well as mentorship from industry leaders. The energy excelerator stamp of approval is a much sought after title today, where less than 5% of companies who apply are accepted.  A cohort set up of like-minded individuals driving toward the same goal, this is an ideal platform to build something truly sustainable and one that will help shape a brighter tomorrow for all our future generations to come.
